Who am I? Why am I doing this?
Hey everyone! About a year and a half ago, I was 10 pounds heavier than I am now. Though I was by no means overweight, I never really felt comfortable in my own body. I have danced my entire life, but I was never very muscular or toned. Then, my freshman year of college, I began to exercise. I noticed a huge change in how I felt and how I looked. Just in a matter of 5 months I had lost about 4 or 5 pounds by exercising and eating better. In January of my freshman year, I decided to do something that I never thought that I would ever do: go vegan. After a few relapses and struggling to keep it up, I pushed through and ended up losing another 5 pounds in a matter of months.
So the overall idea with this cause is to spread awareness to college students that the freshman 15 does not have to happen. Most people gain weight in college because they are stressed and make the wrong choices in the dining hall. They do not exercise or watch what they eat. Well, fortunately, my story is the exact opposite. I lost weight in college and I plan to continue this lifestyle for the rest of my life. I hope that my cause will inspire you to adapt a healthier lifestyle and show you that being healthy is not really all that difficult.
