Like my fellow college students, life caught up with me. Yesterday was super crazy so I apologize for no Workout Wednesday! BUT, to make up for that, I have created Training Thursday! I know that going to the gym can be hard sometimes and motivation does not come easily. Motivating yourself is a skill that comes with time. After going to the gym actively for almost 2 years now, I have come up with some things that help me get through my workouts that I think may help you as well
1. If your gym has TV's in front of the treadmills, ellipticals, etc., try working out in front of those to make time go by faster!
1. If your gym has TV's in front of the treadmills, ellipticals, etc., try working out in front of those to make time go by faster!
2. When you feel like giving up, say to yourself "You can do anything for ___ minutes" or You can do anything for ___ seconds." Put time into perspective and realize that it won't be much longer until you have completed your workout.
3. Remember your goal! Maybe your goal is to shed a few pounds or maybe it is just to become more physically fit. Whatever it is, think about it constantly!
4. This one is a little silly, but find someone to compete with at the gym. If there is someone running next to you and they have been running longer, try to run until they stop. It will help you feel like you accomplished something! Know your limits and push yourself little by little!
5. Going off of the previous tip, find a workout buddy. Hold each other accountable!
6. Lastly, think about how awesome you are going to feel afterwards. You are becoming STRONGER!
